SPOILER ALERT: This article contains details on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 finale.
A season-long mystery has been solved in the Season 4 finale of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
Since the opening episode of the fourth season of the Bravo reality series, a shocking twist was teased that would change the dynamics of the group forever.
It involved Heather Gay finding out something damning about one of her fellow castmates as well as the truth about her black eye, with viewers finally given some clarity on the episode that aired Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Gay was captured on a hot mic talking with a mystery caller who dropped some major news. Producers tried to capture the moment coming into her bedroom in the Bahamas but Gay told them to leave.
Moments later, Gay set up a meeting with the remaining OG cast members, including Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose, and Meredith Marks.
“We’ve come a long way as four and Monica [Garcia] is not who she says she is,” Gay told the group. “She’s not our friend. She’s someone that has schemed and worked to infiltrate our friend group. And the name that you all know her as, the woman who’s birthday we celebrated, who we have been trying to champion, and support and defend is Reality Von Tease.”
Reality Von Tease turns out to be an Instagram account that exposed many secrets from the RHOSLC cast. The account leaked videos that exposed Jen Shah, the housewife serving time in prison for her involvement in a telemarketing scheme.
Gay said she knew Garcia through her hairstylist, Tenesha, who ultimately revealed that Garcia had been feeding information to Reality Von Tease. Gay seemingly grew suspicious of Garcia over the filming of RHOSLC and the way she handled private information, exposing sensitive details on camera. At one point, Garcia even joked on the show that she would be capable of running a social media account to expose the secrets of her fellow castmates.
Garcia was finally confronted by Gay and the rest of the cast during dinner in the Bahamas.
“You are an internet troll. You are a cyberbully. You have been tweeting and undermining and bullying all of us for four years,” Gay told Garcia.
Garcia initially denied being involved saying, “That is bullshit. That was never my f***ing account.”
When Gay insisted Garcia was Reality Von Tease, Garcia admitted, “That is not true entirely.” When her fellow housewives asked for clarification to “entirely,” Garcia added, “That means it’s part true.”
“Von Tease was never just one person,” Garcia said during a confessional for the show. “It wasn’t just me. There were several other humans involved but bottom line, our mission was to take down Jen, the other ones were just collateral damage.”
Later on, Gay told Garcia that the way she acted “was strangely familiar” and related it back to Shah, who she said gave her the infamous black eye from the previous season. Gay had not wanted to talk about her black eye and it had remained a mystery up until now.
“I ate every day for [Shah]. I felt like I had to lie to protect her,” Gay said about defending Shah. “I went on book tours and defended her and took shit for the fact that she gave me a black eye.”
The RHOSLC Season 4 finale set up the reunion for the show, being touted as the first time the entire cast is going to talk about the events in the Bahamas. In the trailer for the Reunion Part 1 episode set to air on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, Gay is asked about how she got her black eye.
Shah’s Instagram account was updated to defend the former RHOSLC star of the allegations made on the show about her.
“Bravo, if I punched Heather in her eye, you guys would have footage to prove it,” read the statement. “It’s clear the show can’t live without me since I was brought up at the beginning, middle and end of Season 4. Andy [Cohen] is still butt hurt that I turned down his 1:1 interview. Why would you sit down with someone who ‘gave’ another cast member a black eye? Next story.”
