The Ministry of Home Affairs has started the Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade 2 (IB ACIO – 2) recruitment exam registration process.
Eligible candidates can register themselves on the official recruitment portal of MHA – IB at mha.gov.in.
Registrations for ACIO II began on November 25, and will go on till December 15, 2023.
The official notification advertised a total of 995 posts in the Intelligence Bureau. Basic eligibility requirement from the candidates is a graduation degree or equivalent, from a recognised university. Age limit (as on 15/12/2023) is set to 18 to 27 years, by the authority
Step by step guide for Applying to IB ACIO Grade 2 recruitment 2023:
Step:1 Go to the MHA official website at mha.gov.in.
Step 2: Navigate to the “What’s New” section and open the relevant page.
Step:3 Find and select the IB ACIO Grade 2 link on the homepage.
Step:4 Access the registration page and complete the registration process.
Step:5 Log in to your account after successful registration.
Step:6 Fill out the application form and complete the payment of application fees.
Step:7 Submit your application and download the confirmation page.
Step:7 Retain a hard copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
Registration fee
The exam fee is Rs. 100, and the processing charge for recruitment is Rs. 450.
Male candidates in UR, EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay the exam fee, while all candidates must cover the processing charges. Payment can be made online using SBI EPAY LITE, including options such as Debit cards, Credit cards, Internet Banking, UPI, SBI challan, etc. For additional information, candidates can refer to the official MHA website.
Selection process
The candidates undergo three stages of qualification to be shortlisted for IB ACIO Grade II/Executive posts. Their performance and normalized marks in the Tier-I exam determine their eligibility for the Tier-II exam. Subsequently, based on their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, candidates are shortlisted for the Tier-III/Interview.

Tier 1 Objective Type – 100 MCQs to be solved in 1 hour. – 1/4 negative marking – Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR- 35, OBC- 34, SC/ST- 33, EWS- 35
Tier 2 Descriptive Type – Essay Writing and English comprehension & précis writing
Tier 3 Interview – Personality Title and Viva-Voce

The IB ACIO 2023 Exam consists of two tiers: Tier 1, which is Objective Type, and Tier 2, which is Descriptive Type. In Tier 1, there is a 1/4 negative marking, while in Tier 2, there is no negative marking.
