Follow this guide to learn how to star photos in Google Photos and make your photo library more personalised and accessible.
Open Google Photos
Launch the Google Photos app on your mobile device or open the Google Photos website on your computer.
Locate the photo
Navigate to the photo that you want to star. You can do this by scrolling through your photo library or using the search function.
Select the photo
Tap on the photo or click on it to open a larger view.
Star the photo
Look for the star icon usually located at the top or bottom of the screen. Tap on the star icon to mark the photo as a favourite.
Confirm the star
Once you’ve tapped the star icon, you’ll typically see a visual change on the photo, such as the appearance of a star symbol. This indicates that the photo has been starred.
View starred photos
To access all your starred photos, go to the “Albums” tab (on the mobile app) or the “Albums” section (on the website) and find the “Starred” album. All your starred photos will be conveniently organised here.
Some tips to keep in mind
- You can also star multiple photos at once. Just select them all and then tap the star icon.
- To see all your starred photos, open the Google Photos app and then tap the “Albums” tab. You’ll see an album called “Favourites” that contains all your starred photos.
- You can also search for your starred photos by typing “starred” in the search bar.
