Sri Lanka women’s team won their maiden Women’s Asia Cup title after they defeated India-led by Harmanpreet Kaur by 8 wickets in final on July 28 at Dambulla. India failed to win their record-extending eighth Asia Cup title. Out of the nine editions of women’s continental tournament, India has won seven while Bangladesh won one title, when they defeated Women in Blue in 2018 by 3 wickets.
In the 2022 edition of Women’s Asia Cup, India defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in Sylhet (Bangladesh).
