EXCLUSIVE: Pierce Brosnan (Fast Charlie), Samuel L. Jackson (Argylle), and Brandon Lessard (Murder at Yellowstone City) are in Montana shooting Unholy Trinity, a Western helmed by Richard Gray (Robert the Bruce), which has secured a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement.
Described as a tale of revenge, dark secrets, and buried treasures, the film is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana. It picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Lessard), an impossible task: murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new Sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Jackson).
The writer behind the pic, shooting at Yellowstone Film Ranch, is Lee Zachariah. Carter Boehm, Richard Gray, Colin Floom, Michele Gray, Kellie Brooks and Jeanne Allgood are producing, with Amadeus Productions exec producing.
Said director Gray in a statement to Deadline, “Thrilled doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel about collaborating with such exceptional talent on “Unholy Trinity.” It’s a captivating story and we feel fortunate to be able to make an epic western during the strike, working alongside SAG every step of the way. Paradise Valley, Montana is a spectacular location, and the ideal backdrop for this special story.”
Most recently appearing in films like The King’s Daughter, Black Adam and The Out-Laws, Brosnan will next be seen in Fast Charlie, the action thriller recently snapped up by Vertical, which has him starring opposite Morena Baccarin and the late James Caan. Other upcoming projects for the actor include the drama Places, Please with Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Lily Rabe; an adaptation of the Niall Williams novel Four Letters of Love co-starring Helena Bonham Carter; and the action thriller The Last Rifleman.
Most recently seen starring opposite his Pulp Fiction co-star Uma Thurman in the darkly comedic thriller The Kill Room, Jackson prior to that reprised his role as Nick Fury for Disney/Marvel’s Secret Invasion on Disney+. Among his other upcoming projects are Matthew Vaughn’s spy pic Argylle; Malcolm Washington’s adaptation of the August Wilson play The Piano Lesson for Netflix; Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels; and a new animated Garfield pic to be released by Sony next summer.
Lessard comes to Unholy Trinity after collaborating with its director on the historical drama Robert the Bruce, starring Angus Macfadyen as the Scottish king, his Western Murder at Yellowstone City, and the thriller Broken Ghost.
