Imran Khan had no regards for the country’s money that was spent to fight the election, Maryam Nawaz said
By India Today World Desk: Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Maryam Nawaz tore into former Prime Minister Imran Khan for sartorially referring to her as a ‘nani’ (grandmother) during one of his addresses.
Without naming Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz said, “The one who calls me grandmother is of my father Nawaz Sharif’s age. Had he made good decisions, he would have been a grandfather today.”
Imran Khan had referred to her as a ‘nani’ in one of his addresses to rousing cheers from his supporters.
Speaking at a meeting of the district youth coordinators, Maryam Nawaz accused Imran Khan of bringing the country down. She also slammed Khan for missing court appearances.
“When Imran Khan is called to court, he says his life is in danger,” Maryam Nawaz said.

Maryam Nawaz, who is the daughter of former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif, launched a searing attack on Imran Khan for selling off gifts presented to him when he was the prime minister.

Hailing her father’s government, she said Nawaz Sharif ensured the economy was growing at a rate of six per cent. But it was Imran Khan who brought the country down and decelerated the growth, she said. “Even Bangladesh has sped past us,” Maryam said.
Imran Khan contested from 10 seats and after winning abandoned them, she said, adding that Khan had no regard for the country’s money that was spent on fighting the election.
