In 2010, a motor-vehicle accident stole my mobility, leaving me with multiple disabilities and reliant on a wheelchair. Suddenly, the world I knew seemed impossibly small, as the option of seeking a graduate degree from an Indian university slipped out of my reach. Yet, across the oceans, whispers of inclusivity and accommodative culture for students with disabilities reached my ears.
