New Delhi: Television actress Priya Marathe, best known for her role in Pavitra Rishta, has passed away at the age of 38. The actress was a familiar face in both Hindi and Marathi television shows.

According to media reports, Priya breathed her last at her residence in the Mira Road area of Mumbai on August 31, 2025. She had been battling cancer for the past year.

Priya Marathe was known for playing Vidya Bali in Balaji Telefilms’ Kasamh Se and later featured in the first season of Comedy Circus.

Who Was Actress Priya Marathe?

Priya Marathe was born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai. She completed her schooling and college in the city before finding her calling in the world of acting. She made her television debut with the Marathi serial Ya Sukhanoya and later appeared in Char Divas Sasuche.

She rose to fame with her portrayal of Varsha in Pavitra Rishta, starring alongside the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Priya also appeared briefly in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain as Jyoti Malhotra and played a negative role, Priya Mohite, in the Marathi serial Tu Tithe Me. In February 2017, she joined the cast of Star Plus’s Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, playing Bhavani Rathod, an evil-natured woman who kills her husband.

In her personal life, Priya tied the knot with actor Shantanu Moghe on April 24, 2012. Shantanu is also known for his role in the series Swarajya Rakshak Sambhaji. Priya was known to be deeply spiritual and devoted to her beliefs.

Her untimely death has left her co-stars, friends, and fans heartbroken. Many remember her as a warm, talented, and kind-hearted person. Priya’s passing is a significant loss to the Marathi and Hindi entertainment industry, and her contribution to television will always be remembered.
